Frequently Asked Questions
What makes One Team One Coffee different?
One Team One Coffee focuses on specialty-grade coffee sourced from high-quality farms and roasted for freshness. Our goal is simple: deliver great coffee that brings people together. Every roast is selected for balanced flavor, quality beans, and consistent taste.
What is specialty-grade coffee?
Specialty coffee refers to beans that score 80 points or higher on the Specialty Coffee Association grading scale. These beans are carefully sourced, processed, and roasted to bring out the natural flavor notes of the coffee.
Where is your coffee sourced from?
Our coffee comes from select coffee-growing regions around the world, including Central America, South America, and Africa. Each region offers unique flavor profiles that allow us to offer a variety of blends and single-origin coffees.
When is the coffee roasted?
Our coffee is roasted in small batches and shipped fresh. This ensures you receive coffee at peak flavor rather than beans that have been sitting on shelves for months.
What roast levels do you offer?
We offer a variety of roast profiles including:
• Light Roast – brighter acidity and complex flavors
• Medium Roast – balanced flavor with smooth body
• Dark Roast – bold, rich, and full-bodied
Each roast is designed to highlight the unique characteristics of the beans.
Ordering & Shipping
How long does shipping take?
Orders are typically processed within 1-3 business days and shipped shortly after roasting. Shipping time will vary depending on your location but generally arrives within 3-7 business days.
Do you offer subscriptions?
Subscription options may be available so you can receive fresh coffee automatically on a regular schedule without needing to reorder.
Where do you ship?
We ship within the United States and APO addresses.
Brewing
What is the best way to brew your coffee?
Our coffee works great with many brewing methods including:
• Drip coffee makers
• Pour-over
• French press
• Espresso machines
• AeroPress
We recommend grinding beans fresh before brewing for the best flavor.
What is the best water temperature for brewing coffee?
For the best flavor extraction, water temperature should generally be between:
195°F – 205°F (90°C – 96°C)
This range helps extract the coffee’s natural flavors without over-extracting bitterness.
If the water is too hot, the coffee may taste bitter.
If the water is too cool, the coffee may taste weak or sour.
Recommended Water Temperatures by Brew Method
Drip Coffee Maker
195°F – 205°F
Most modern coffee makers are designed to brew within this range.
Pour-Over (V60, Chemex, etc.)
200°F – 205°F
Slightly hotter water helps evenly extract flavor during the manual pour.
French Press
195°F – 200°F
Lower temperatures work well with the longer immersion time.
Espresso
190°F – 200°F
Espresso machines regulate temperature automatically within this range.
AeroPress
175°F – 205°F depending on recipe
Many AeroPress recipes use slightly cooler water for smoother results.
Quick Tip
If you don’t have a thermometer:
Bring water to a boil, then let it sit for about 30 seconds before brewing.
This usually places the water in the ideal brewing range.
How should I store my coffee?
To maintain freshness:
• Store coffee in an airtight container
• Keep it away from heat, light, and moisture
• Avoid refrigeration or freezing once opened
